How to use the Prospect platform — getting started guide
New to Sprift Prospecting? Here's an overview of how the platform works and how to get started with your first campaign.
The Sprift Prospecting platform helps estate agents reach potential sellers and landlords through targeted direct mail campaigns. If you’re new to prospecting on Sprift, this guide covers the key concepts and how everything fits together.
How prospecting works
At a high level, Sprift Prospecting works like this:
-
Your postcodes define your target area — these are the geographic areas where your mailings will be sent. See How do I manage my prospecting postcodes?.
-
Your templates define what gets sent — these are the designs for your letters or postcards. See How do I create, edit, and upload Prospect Templates?.
-
Tokens are used to send mailings — each mailing costs one token. See How do I purchase Prospect Tokens?.
-
Sprift identifies the right properties — using property data and market intelligence, Sprift targets properties in your postcode areas that match your campaign criteria.
-
Mailings are printed and posted — Sprift handles the printing and posting of your campaign materials.

Getting started checklist
Before you launch your first campaign, make sure the following are in place:
- Postcodes set up — your target postcode areas have been configured by our team
- Templates ready — at least one mailing template has been created and approved
- Tokens available — you have sufficient tokens in your account for the campaign
- Branding complete — your logo, colours, and agent details are set up. See How do I update my company branding and report appearance?
If any of these aren’t in place, email customer.success@sprift.com and we’ll get you set up.
Navigating the prospecting platform

The main sections of the prospecting platform include:
- Dashboard — an overview of your campaigns, token balance, and recent activity
- Campaigns — where you set up, manage, and monitor your mailing campaigns
- Templates — where your mailing designs are stored
- Reports — tracking and results from your campaigns
Tips for effective prospecting
- Start with a focused area. Rather than covering a very large postcode area thinly, start with your core patch and send mailings consistently.
- Use multiple template types. Different messages work for different situations — consider templates for just sold, price reductions, general canvassing, and seasonal campaigns.
- Review your results. Use the reporting tools to see which campaigns are generating the best response, and adjust your approach accordingly.
- Attend training. Our prospecting training sessions cover the platform in detail and share best practices. See Training sessions and webinars.
